Community Living Options

ADDWC offers a variety of residential services which promote independent living and are based upon an individual’s needs. Twenty-four hour supports are offered in a small, group home setting. Four to six adults share a home that is staffed around the clock. For those who wish to remain in their own home, staff can be utilized intermittently, or as a home based support service, to provide training and daily living skills assistance. All residential services are funded through the Department of Human Services. To apply for residential funding, you may contact Central Illinois Service Access at (309) 347-7202.

Vocational Skill Training

ADDWC provides training programs that teach employable skills through group instruction, demonstrations, simulated workstations, and hands-on learning. Examples of these skills include regular attendance, attention to task, relations with supervisors and co-workers, flexibility, and problem-solving. Vocational skills training participants are given the opportunity to utilize their abilities by assisting local businesses in meeting their sub-contracting needs. Assembly, packaging, collating, and janitorial services are among our areas of focus.

Developmental Skills Training

With the most recent addition to our facility, the Life Skills Center, ADDWC is teaching functional skills in both small group and one-on-one environments. Individuals are given the opportunity for growth in personal care, housekeeping, recreational and leisure experiences, financial management, artistic expression, and social proficiency. The Life Skills Center utilizes such tools as computers and a full kitchen/laundry facility, as well music, art, and sensory stimulation to achieve the ADDWC goal of each program participant’s integration into community.
